President-Elect Donald Trump Appoints William Joseph McGinley as White House Counsel

November 12, 2024- President-elect Donald J. Trump has announced the appointment of William Joseph McGinley as his White House Counsel. McGinley, a seasoned and determined lawyer, is set to play a key role in advancing Trump’s America First agenda while focusing on election integrity and opposing the weaponization of law enforcement.

In a statement, Trump praised McGinley for his legal expertise and unwavering commitment to the conservative cause. “Bill is a smart and tenacious lawyer who will help me advance our America First agenda while fighting for election integrity and against the weaponization of law enforcement,” Trump said.

McGinley previously served in Trump’s first term as White House Cabinet Secretary, where he played a pivotal role in the administration’s efforts. He also made significant contributions to Trump’s election victory as the Republican National Committee’s (RNC) Outside Counsel for Election Integrity.

With an extensive background in both political and private-sector law, McGinley has served as General Counsel at the National Republican Senatorial Committee (NRSC) and worked as a partner at two international law firms. His expertise in election law and public policy will be vital as he works alongside President Trump to implement his second-term priorities.
