The White House on May 2 released a Presidential Message marking Asian American and Pacific Islander (AAPI) Heritage Month, recognizing the longstanding contributions of AAPI communities across the United States and outlining key policy priorities of the administration.
The message highlights the role of Asian Americans and Pacific Islanders in shaping the nation over its 250-year history. It notes that more than 77,000 AAPI service members are currently serving in the U.S. Armed Forces, alongside a broad presence of small business owners, healthcare professionals, and technology innovators contributing to the country’s economic growth and public well-being.
The President emphasized that the values commonly associated with AAPI communities—family, hard work, education, and freedom—align with those promoted by the administration. Since returning to office, the administration has advanced policies aimed at lowering the cost of living and providing tax relief for working families and small businesses, including through the One Big Beautiful Bill Act.
On public safety, the message states that efforts are underway to reduce violent crime and improve neighborhood safety. In education, the administration highlighted initiatives focused on expanding parental involvement and promoting merit-based standards. The statement also points to ongoing efforts to strengthen trade relations with Asian and Pacific partners, aimed at improving market access, reinforcing supply chains, and creating broader economic opportunities.
The message concludes by reaffirming a commitment to an “American future” shaped by faith, hope, and hard work, while recognizing the continued contributions of AAPI communities nationwide.
