[VT Washington, D.C.] March 21, 2025 — During a high-level visit to Washington this week, UAE National Security Advisor HH Sheikh Tahnoon bin Zayed met with President Donald Trump in the Oval Office, followed by a formal dinner with Vice President Vance and Cabinet officials. The advisor, acting on behalf of UAE President HH Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed, led a delegation that included top executives from the UAE’s sovereign wealth funds and corporations.
As a result of the visit, the United Arab Emirates announced a landmark $1.4 trillion investment framework over the next ten years, significantly expanding its presence in the U.S. economy across sectors including AI infrastructure, semiconductors, energy, and advanced manufacturing.
Key initiatives announced include:
- AI Infrastructure Partnership (AIP): Abu Dhabi-based MGX, BlackRock, Microsoft, and Global Infrastructure Partners welcomed NVIDIA and xAI to the AIP. The alliance aims to mobilize up to $100 billion to develop next-generation data centers and energy infrastructure supporting U.S. AI leadership.
- Energy Infrastructure Expansion: ADQ and U.S.-based Energy Capital Partners launched a $25 billion initiative to invest in American energy infrastructure and data centers.
- Natural Gas Investment: ADNOC-owned XRG committed to support U.S. natural gas production and exports by investing in the Next Decade LNG export facility in Texas, with additional plans to expand investments across U.S. energy assets.
- Critical Minerals Supply Chain: ADQ and Orion Resource Partners agreed to a $1.2 billion partnership focused on securing essential mineral supplies through joint mining investments.
- Aluminum Industry Boost: Emirates Global Aluminum will fund the first new aluminum smelter in the U.S. in 35 years—an initiative projected to nearly double domestic aluminum output.
These substantial investments reflect the UAE’s long-term strategic partnership with the United States and underscore the strong diplomatic and economic ties between President Trump and President Sheikh Mohamed.
