U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio issued a Lunar New Year message on Sunday, extending greetings to those celebrating the holiday in the United States and around the world.
In the statement, Rubio recognized the cultural traditions associated with the Lunar New Year and the importance of the celebration for millions of people.
“On behalf of the United States of America, I extend my warmest wishes to all those celebrating the Lunar New Year,” Rubio said.
The message noted that Lunar New Year is a time for families and friends to gather, reflect on the past year, and look ahead with hope and determination.
Rubio also wished that the new year would bring “health, happiness, and success to all who celebrate.”
