[VT Washington, D.C. ] March 21, 2025 – The White House issued a presidential memorandum on March 21 directing all heads of executive departments and agencies to revoke active security clearances and classified information access for a list of named individuals, citing national interest concerns.
The individuals listed include high-profile political figures and former government officials: Secretary of State Antony Blinken, National Security Advisor Jacob Sullivan, Deputy National Security Advisor Lisa Monaco, attorney Mark Zaid, former Ambassador Norman Eisen, New York Attorney General Letitia James, Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg, former DOJ official Andrew Weissmann, former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, former Representative Elizabeth Cheney, Vice President Kamala Harris, former Representative Adam Kinzinger, foreign policy expert Fiona Hill, retired Lt. Col. Alexander Vindman, President Joseph R. Biden Jr., and any other member of the Biden family.
According to the memorandum, these individuals are no longer authorized to access classified information, including materials such as the President’s Daily Brief. Furthermore, their unescorted access to secure U.S. Government facilities is to be revoked.
If any of the individuals received their security clearance through private employment, the issuing federal entity is instructed to notify the corresponding private entity that the clearance is no longer valid.
The memorandum specifies that it does not create any enforceable rights or legal benefits against the U.S. Government or its agencies.
