President-Elect Donald J. Trump Nominates Pete Hegseth as Secretary of Defense


November 12, 2024 Mar-a-Lago, FL – President Donald J. Trump has officially nominated Pete Hegseth to serve as the Secretary of Defense in his Cabinet. In a statement issued on November 12, 2024, President Trump expressed his pride in selecting Hegseth, a decorated Army combat veteran and staunch advocate for military personnel and veterans, to lead the U.S. Department of Defense.
