August 16, 2024, The Harris-Walz campaign is set to launch a bus tour across Western Pennsylvania on Sunday, August 18, just before the Democratic National Convention. This tour marks the first time Vice President Kamala Harris, Governor Tim Walz, Second Gentleman Doug Emhoff, and First Lady of Minnesota Gwen Walz will campaign together.
Starting in Pittsburgh, the tour will cover key battlegrounds in Allegheny and Beaver Counties, featuring a range of events from canvass kickoffs to local retail stops. The aim is to engage voters directly and build on the 2020 success, emphasizing achievements such as job creation under the Biden-Harris administration and support for organized labor.
The tour is part of a “Weekend of Action,” with the campaign expected to conduct more door-to-door canvassing than in previous weekends. The Harris-Walz campaign has a strong state presence with seven field offices in Western Pennsylvania and 36 across the state.
