Committee of 100 Announces U.S. Trade Representative Katherine Tai to Attend 2024 Annual Conference & Gala

[VT] New York, April 12, 2024 I The Committee of 100 has announced that United States Trade Representative Katherine Tai will deliver a keynote address at its 2024 Conference & Gala, scheduled for April 19.

Ambassador Katherine Tai, who assumed office as the 19th United States Trade Representative on March 18, 2021, brings a wealth of experience in international trade and diplomacy to her role. As a key member of the President’s Cabinet, Ambassador Tai serves as the principal trade advisor, negotiator, and spokesperson on U.S. trade policy.

Prior to her appointment, Ambassador Tai held various positions in public service, including Chief Trade Counsel and Trade Subcommittee Staff Director for the House Ways and Means Committee in the United States Congress. She played a significant role in shaping U.S. trade law, negotiation strategies, and bilateral and multilateral agreements, including the renegotiation of the United States-Mexico-Canada Agreement.

Ambassador Tai is also well-versed in World Trade Organization (WTO) litigation, having developed and tried cases for the Office of the United States Trade Representative. Her extensive background includes practicing law in the private sector, clerkship for district judges, and teaching English in Guangzhou, China.

A graduate of Yale University and Harvard Law School, Ambassador Tai is fluent in Mandarin. Her exclusive remarks at the Committee of 100’s Conference & Gala will provide valuable insights into the future of the U.S.-China relationship and U.S. trade policy.

The Committee of 100’s annual Conference & Gala, scheduled to take place at the New York Marriott Marquis in less than two weeks, will feature a diverse range of discussions, debates, keynotes, and networking opportunities.
